Xbox X

The next generation of Xbox X

At the end of 2020, the public saw a new gaming console that was one of the most powerful even at the moment. The Xbox Series X is the successor to Microsoft’s last generation of gaming consoles.

There are several models, but it’s the last one that’s on the radar right now, so it’s worth giving it maximum attention. And it’s immediately worth saying that numerous projects that could be run on earlier versions are available for the new one as well.

Appearance

During the creation process, the manufacturer used a utilitarian design, where it is the functional component that prevails. Not so much attention has been paid to expressiveness here. The case looks quite dull; it is almost all black and the top stands out because it is concave.

There are also holes in the lid, but some owners say that they are quite large. At the bottom, they are painted green. And if previously it was thought that this is such a backlighting, it’s not really the case. But it looks quite spectacular and adds interest. But you have to be careful not to drop anything inside the unit.

An added plus is that the console is virtually silent. There is practically no sound during use.

The device can be placed either vertically or horizontally. For this, there is a stand at the bottom as well as feet on one of the edges. Hot air escapes on one side, just through the large holes on the casing.

Here the manufacturer has only made some tweaks, and everything is interchangeable in this regard. In terms of functionality there are no innovations, apart from a new button Share, thanks to which you can make screenshots or video of the gameplay. But previously they did well without it as well.

Changes have affected the ergonomics. For example, the crossbar has been redesigned. Initially it didn’t seem very comfortable, and the edges dug into your fingers, while the taps seemed to be incredibly loud. Of course, users quickly got used to this. But now things have changed for the better.

Additional features

In this regard, performance is worth highlighting right away, it has increased by at least 2 times. But it’s not just the CPU that’s better. The Xbox Series X also has increased bandwidth, both storage and memory. And importantly, an SSD is now installed.

The Quick resume feature is a feature that deserves attention. Its special feature is that individual games save their state in a designated location on the drive, so you can run everything almost from where you left off.

When it comes to graphics, you can’t complain. There’s Auto HDR with an extended colour and brightness range. And this applies even to games where the developer didn’t even think about it.
